HomeEase — Privacy Policy
HomeEase is an offline household manager. It is built so that your household information stays on your phone. We do not run servers that receive your data, we do not require an account, and we do not show ads.
1. Information you enter, and where it is stored
You may enter information such as:
- names, phone numbers, work type, joining date, salary, attendance, advances and payments of people who work in your home (household staff such as a maid, cook, nanny or driver);
- vendors (for example milk, newspaper, internet providers), daily deliveries, bills, tasks, reminders, assets, maintenance contracts (AMC) and documents;
- notes, and photos or files you attach (for example a staff photo, a bill, a warranty card).
All of this is stored only on your device, in an encrypted database. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. We (the developer) cannot see, access or recover it.
If you enter details about other people (for example a staff member's name, phone number or ID / visa expiry date), please make sure you have their agreement to keep that record, as data-protection laws in many countries expect.
2. Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information. There is no account, sign-up, login, analytics, advertising or tracking in HomeEase.
Bill scanning: when you choose to scan a bill with the camera, the text is read entirely on your device (Google ML Kit's built-in, offline text recognition). The app has no internet permission, so neither the image, the text, nor any usage statistics can be sent anywhere.
Region settings: on first launch the app reads your phone's language/region setting and the clock's time zone on the device only, to suggest a currency, date format and first day of the week. This is never sent anywhere; you can change the suggestion at any time in Settings → Household.
Reports, receipts and statements: PDF and CSV reports (for example a household-spend report, a salary receipt or a full & final statement) are generated on your device and stay there until you choose to share them.
3. When information leaves your device (only when you choose)
Data leaves your phone only when you take one of these actions:
- Backup: you create a backup file and choose where to save or share it (for example your own Google Drive, email, or a USB drive). The database inside the backup stays encrypted. Attached photos and files are included as they are, so keep the backup file somewhere safe.
- Export (CSV): you export records to a spreadsheet file and choose where to save or share it. Exported files are not encrypted.
- Sharing: you share something like a salary summary, a PDF receipt or report, or a vendor statement through another app (for example WhatsApp or email). Shared PDF and CSV files are not encrypted.
- Report a problem: you send us an email. It contains your message plus basic technical details (app version, device model, Android version, and the app's region format and currency code) and, only if you switch it on, the app's log file. You can read the email before sending.
Once you share a file through another app or service, that app's or service's own privacy policy applies.
4. Permissions the app uses
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| (no camera permission) | To scan a bill or take a photo, the app opens Android's camera app; the app receives only the picture you take. |
| (no storage permission) | Photos and files you attach are picked through Android's own photo picker / file chooser, so the app sees only the item you choose; a copy is kept inside the app. |
| Notifications | Reminders for tasks, bills and maintenance. |
| Run at startup | Re-schedule your reminders after the phone restarts. |
| Fingerprint / biometric | Unlock the app. Your fingerprint is checked by Android; the app never receives it. |
HomeEase does not request internet access, location, contacts, SMS, call logs, or access to your photo gallery or storage.
5. Security
- The database is encrypted on your device. The encryption key is kept in Android's secure storage.
- You can protect the app with a PIN and/or fingerprint. The PIN is stored as a secure hash, not as plain text.
- If you lose your phone without a backup, your data cannot be recovered, because we never hold a copy.
6. Your control over your data
- See and change: everything you entered is visible and editable in the app.
- Export: More → Data & privacy → Export data (CSV), at any time, free.
- Delete: Settings → Delete all data erases everything on the device. Uninstalling the app also deletes its data. Backup or export files you saved elsewhere are not affected; delete those yourself.
Because we do not hold any of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Your rights under data-protection laws
Laws such as the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act and similar laws elsewhere give you rights to access, correct, export and delete personal data. Because HomeEase keeps your data only on your device and the developer holds no copy, you can exercise all of these rights directly in the app: view and edit any record, export it (CSV or backup), and delete it (single records or Delete all data). There is no data held by us to request. If you keep records about other people (for example your staff), you are responsible for handling their requests for that data.
7. Children
HomeEase is meant for adults managing a household. It is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes (for example if optional cloud features are added in future), we will update this page and the effective date above, and describe the change in the app's release notes. Any future cloud feature will be optional and off unless you turn it on.
9. Contact
vibeforgetech@gmail.com or help.homeflow@gmail.com (the address used by the app's "Report a problem").
